Organic pistachio of the highest quality

Organic pistachio of the highest quality

At Sancorganic we cultivate and process organic pistachios, applying the highest quality standards at every stage of the process. In this way, we aim for our activity to generate a positive and lasting impact over time.

What is Sancorganic?

Sancorganic is a pistachio producer with organic certification and an integrated operating model.

Today we manage two estates in Cebreros (Ávila) and Valdetorres de Jarama (Madrid) where we plant our pistachio trees, carry out all the agronomic management and process the harvests.

In total, we have over 500 hectares and more than 100,000 trees planted. Our goal is to reach 200,000 pistachio trees and to be one of the benchmark organic pistachio plantations in Europe.

Large-scale organic production

We cultivate organically with planning and by applying the most advanced farming techniques. As our trees come into production, we increase our volumes without compromising on the highest quality standards.

Own processing plant

We have state-of-the-art infrastructure for receiving, peeling, drying and packaging the product. But we want to go further and, as a result, we will increase our processing capabilities at the same time as our production grows.

Positive impact, with rigor

We understand quality as the result of doing things right from the beginning: taking care of the soil, using water with maximum efficiency, respecting natural cycles, and making decisions based on knowledge, data, and experience.

Production

Producing high-quality organic pistachio requires taking care of every phase: soil management, irrigation decisions, annual pruning, and monitoring the tree throughout the cycle. We apply the latest available technology in areas such as drip irrigation or soil sensing to control moisture and adjust the water supply. Furthermore, we implement regenerative practices such as cover cropping that we monitor through targeted grazing.

The Process

Processing well is preserving quality. Our plant in Valdetorres de Jarama allows us to control times and conditions, with a line that, to this day, integrates reception, destemming, peeling, and drying as well as packaging in big bags for professional operations.

Sustainability

We believe in a way of cultivating that leaves a positive footprint. We want to be a benchmark in our sector, not only for the amount of organic pistachio we are going to produce, but also for how we are going to do it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are the Sancorganic plantations located?

We operate in Valdetorres de Jarama (Madrid) and Cebreros (Ávila).

Does Sancorganic process its own pistachio?

Yes. We have a processing plant in Valdetorres de Jarama (Madrid) that integrates receipt, destemming, peeling, and drying. It has the capacity for bagging in big bags. As our production increases, we will be incorporating new processing and packaging capabilities.

What is your processing capacity?

The plant is designed to operate with a capacity of up to 5,000 kg/day.

What ecological certifications does Sancorganic have?

Sancorganic works with organic production certifications for its plantations and processing plant, including the Committee of Organic Agriculture of the Community of Madrid (CAEM) for the Valdetorres de Jarama estate (Madrid) and Certifood for the Cebreros estate (Ávila).

How do you ensure the consistency of quality?

By integrating production and processing, we take care of the timing and conditions of the product and apply consistent criteria for classification and selection.

What practices do you apply to generate a positive impact in the area?

We work with advanced agricultural techniques. We carry out analyses of both the soil and the trees. We have moisture sensor systems and drip irrigation systems. All of this is aimed at improving the soil, reducing erosion, and optimising water use. Additionally, we are implementing a plant cover that we maintain through managed grazing (a flock of approximately 300 sheep).

Do you have a responsible energy approach?

In Valdetorres de Jarama, we are operating under a model of energy autonomy using solar panels and batteries, with the possibility of feeding excess energy into the grid.

What formats do you offer?

So far, only a small portion of our trees have started production. Therefore, the main focus is on packaging in big bags aimed at professional clients. As more trees enter production and the harvests increase, the formats will evolve.

What is the relationship between Sancorganic and Sancor Capital?

Sancorganic is backed by Sancor Capital, which provides financial support and a long-term growth vision.
